Best place to visit in Dolomites
1. Tre Cime di Lavaredo
Also known as the “Drei Zinnen” mountain range, it is home to three separate peaks in the Sexten Dolomites that are regarded as some of the best in the Alps, with picturesque views and landscapes to provide.
Transportation
If you take a car, go through the SS49 road towards Misurina that is nestled at the north of the town and then follow the toll road to get the ticket and visit the parking area near Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
2. Passo Gardena
Literally translated, “Garden Pass” is a mountain pass in the northeastern Italian region of South Tyrol’s Dolomites. It provides a unique combination of breathtaking scenery, outdoor pursuits, and a dash of culture. It is well known for its ski tops, which you can sample.
Transportation
All you need is a “Mobilecard,” which you can purchase online or from a ticket machine at a nearby train station to ride the cable cars and trains operated by the South Tylorean Transport Association. Additionally, lanes 460, 460-S, N460, or 465 can be used to board the bus.
3. Lake Sorapis
Nestled amidst the majestic Dolomites in northern Italy, this hidden gem is a haven for adventurers and nature enthusiasts, offering turquoise waters and picturesque mountain backdrops, as well as the renowned Magcal Alpine Lakes.
Transportation
The most recommended and less tiring pathway to the lake is at Passo Tre Croci. It is a 20 minute drive to the east of SR 48, taken from Cortina, which is the nearest town.
4. Val di Funes

Transportation
Travel to Bressanone station by train from South Tyrol using a “Ausgangsticket Sudtirol” ticket. From there, go to Val di Funes by public bus.

Transportation
Take a cable car from the charming villages of Ortisei in Val Gardena, that offer scenic views along with awaited valleys to dwell in. After getting off, you will arrive at the high altitudes of Seceda.
6. Passo Giau

Transportation
Take a car through the Cortina d’Ampezzo and Selva di Codore to reach Passo Giau while enjoying the scenic beauty surrounding the area. You can also take the public bus from Cortina d’Ampezzo to directly get down at Passo Giau.
7. Marmolada

Transportation
Take a car from Canazei and follow the signs to Passo Fedaia from where you can take the route of cable cars. If you take the public transport, use bus that connects Canazei and Malga Ciapela to reach the destination.
8. Lake Braies
Known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters, stunning mountain backdrop, and serene atmosphere, Lake Braies, nestled in the Prags Dolomites in South Tyrol of Italy, is a must-visit destination for nature lovers, photographers, and adventure enthusiasts.
Transportation
Take the car from Dobbiaco, follow the signs to Villabassa/Niederdorf and then to Braies/Prags. There are several parking lots near the lake, but they can fill up quickly during peak seasons, so it’s best to arrive early. During the summer months, there are also shuttle buses from Dobbiaco and Villabassa to Lake Braies.
9. Lago di Misurina
Lago di Misurina, located in the heart of the Dolomites in northern Italy, is a stunning alpine lake renowned for its crystal-clear waters, majestic mountain backdrop, and serene atmosphere. Lago di Misurina offers a perfect blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities.
Transportation
Drive north on SS51 towards Dobbiaco from Cortina d’Ampezzo and follow the signs for Misurina. The lake is easily accessible by car, and there are parking areas nearby.If you wish to take public transports, take the buses that run from Cortina d’Ampezzo and Dobbiaco to Misurina.
