After breakfast at the hotel, we will proceed for a fun day out at Oudtshoorn – a charming town located in the heart of the Klein Karoo region in South Africa. It is known as the ostrich capital of the world.
We start the tour with a visit to Cango caves. These are 20 million year-old underground cave system that have been recognised as one of the greatest natural wonders of the world. It is the biggest cave systems in Africa and cave paintings indicate it has been inhabited since the early stone ages.
Next, we will visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch – a sanctuary for endangered and rare animal species. The ranch offers a great opportunity to see these animals from up close, such as lions, tigers, cheetah, crocodiles and rare birds. The ranch also offers a chance to visitors to interact with these animals, and feed them with food at additional cost.
After the wildlife ranch, proceed for a once in a lifetime experience to interact with Ostriches at the Ostriches show farm. Oudtshoorn is home to to the world’s largest Ostrich population and ostrich farms here supplied fine Ostrich feather to royalty and high society when it was the elite fashion trend around 1800s. Cape Peninsula is a peninsular landmass that is bounded by Table mountain in the North and Cape of Good hope in the south. Large parts of the peninsula come under the Table Mountain National Park and is extraordinarily rich in biodiversity. During the tour, we shall visit Hout Bay, a historic and colourful fishing village, catch sight of playful penguins at Boulder’s Beach, visit Cape of Good Hope which is widely believed as the southernmost tip of African continent and enjoy the world’s most scenic drive across Chapman’s Peak.
